In this gentle session we will use a variety of props to bask in supportive, relaxing poses which enable our bodies and minds to heal, restore and find balance. This a great way to center oneself: physically, emotionally, and mentally. We will end class with a guided meditation. This workshop is for everyone; no prior yoga experience is needed.
RESTORATIVE Yoga is a passive and deeply therapeutic form of yoga that provides deep rest for tired bodies, relaxation for busy minds and rejuvenation for the entire nervous system by way of strategically positioning props to support and nourish the body down to the cellular level. Different from more active styles of yoga, Restorative Yoga concentrates on surrendering our weight with the use of various props and softening into the poses. This helps us to relieve the effects of negative stress encountered in daily life, and can be highly beneficial in times of fatigue, illness, and emotional strain. Our focus will be to calm and nurture ourselves on all levels during the class.
All props that you need for class will be provided but All participants will be requested to bring 1-2 pillows and 2 blankets for extra props in case you need them. If you have an eye pillow or something to place over your eyes then bring that as well.
