Becky was introduced to yoga in 2002 while living in Texas. As a mother of 4 sons and a daughter, staying healthy and grounded was a priority. She immediately recognized that practicing vinyasa, yin and restorative yoga exceeded the physical benefits of improving strength, flexibility and balance. She has had a continuous, sustained yoga practice since then.
She returned to Ormond Beach in 2013, and after trying several studios in the area, discovered her new "home" at Yoga Bala with teacher/owner Karrie Aubuchon. She decided to enroll in Teacher Training to improve her knowledge and practice of the 8 Limbs of yoga. She received her 200 Hour Teacher Training and 55 hours of Ashtanga Second Series Yoga Immersion with Karrie.
She continues her practice today at Lotus Yoga under the guidance of owner/teacher Debbie Yarbrough and discovers new benefits for her physical practice and dealing with life off the mat. Becky loves to teach all styles of yoga and looks forward to sharing her practice with her yoga family at Lotus Yoga. Becky inspires her students by being an example of having a sustained practice and is an example of how our practice changes as we age or encounter injuries along our yoga journey. For Becky, Yoga is a practice of mindfulness of the body, mind and spirit.
Becky also loves to garden, paddle board, cook (and eat) vegan food and most of all to be able to spend time with her granddaughter Claudia!
